Our need for affordable homes

A recent survey indicated that Colyton and Colyford need at least 36 affordable homes in the next five years if local young people and others in housing need are to make a future in the parish. The newly established Colyton & Colyford Community Land Trust has been created to tackle this and potentially other issues which the community feel are important. Such trusts are springing up right across the UK and represent a new approach – democratic action by the community for the community. Our initial aim is to facilitate the provision of affordable homes. The trust will be run by volunteers and is owned by the people of the community – you can join by buying one share at a minimum cost of £1.
