20 November 2018: MEMBERS of the Colyton & Colyford Community Land Trust are being urged to attend a Special General Meeting to be held at the Reece Strawbridge Centre in Colyton at 7pm on Wednesday 12 December.
If you are not already a member, now is the time to join in order to play your part in the drive to provide affordable homes for local people. The cost of membership is just £1, which makes you a shareholder and entitles you to vote. Membership application forms can be downloaded here.
It is a requirement of the Trust’s registration as a Community Benefit Society that, after six months, the founding Board of Directors stands down. The members may reappoint the individual Directors at the meeting, which will also provide an opportunity for others to be appointed.
Existing members will have received an agenda for the meeting, and also a nomination form that will enable them to stand as a Director. Nomination forms should be returned to Trust Secretary Paul Arnott at Minton House, Church Street, Colyton EX24 6JY by 28 November.
The Special General Meeting will also provide an opportunity for the current Directors to provide an update on what has been achieved to date. In particular, that includes working with Homes England to explore options for the long-term ownership and management of the affordable rent units proposed for the CeramTec site. The Trust has also set up its communications channels to keep the community informed of its activities.
The existing Directors are listed here.
